Kenya’s Ruth Chepngetich and Tanzania’s Ismail Juma were the surprise winners at the Vodafone Istanbul Half Marathon, clocking Turkish all-comers’ records of 1:06:19 and 1:00:09 at the IAAF Gold Label Road Race on Sunday (30). Albert Korir edged fellow Kenyan runner Ishmael Bushendich by two seconds to win the Vienna City Marathon in chilly and windy conditions on Sunday. Daniel Wanjiru dug deep as he held off favourite Kenenisa Bekele to claim victory in the London Marathon elite men’s race. It was the biggest victory of his career, having previously won the 2016 Amsterdam Marathon. Mary Keitany Breaks Marathon World Record in London

Kenya’s Mary Keitany on Sunday clocked 2 hours, 17 minutes and 01 second to break women’s world marathon record with victory at London Marathon. Keitany broke the 14-year-old record of 2:17:42 set by Briton Paula Radcliffe at the same course by 41 seconds. The feat was enough to also set a new national record.
