Following the controversial decision to strip Ezekiel Kemboi of his Olympic bronze medal, he has announced that he will not retire from athletics just yet.

Kemboi was disqualified from the race and subsequently lost his medal to French runner Mahiedine Mekhisi-Benabbad after the Frenchman officially complained that Kemboi stepped off the track in the fourth lap of his race.

On his official Facebook page, Kemboi posted,

I had opted to retire right after the Olympics only if i had come home with this medal….now i feel that i have to bring back this medal not by protesting again but right on track. Kemboi is not retired i will be coming to London 2017 to re-claim my medal from France. No limits.

We wish him the very best.
